Manual de preparación de la sala quirúrgica para paciente sometido a neurocirugía

Abstract

Introducción: En el proceso quirúrgico existen tres fases claramente diferenciadas: fase preoperatoria; fase intraoperatoria y fase postoperatoria, que forman parte de la asistencia integral del paciente. Dentro del periodo transoperatorio la instrumentación quirúrgica es la capacidad de participar en la intervención quirúrgica, en el manejo del instrumental, accesorios y de aplicar técnicas estériles. El profesional enfermero de quirófano es un componente vital del equipo quirúrgico y como tal ha de estar entrenado teórica y técnicamente antes de tener contacto directo con el paciente. Su papel implicará conocimientos de anatomía, así como de la técnica quirúrgica, posición del paciente, instrumental, material necesario, normas de asepsia y esterilización. Deberá adelantarse a las necesidades de la cirugía y afrontar situaciones críticas. Metodología: Se realizó la búsqueda de información sobre la sala quirúrgica y las etapas del proceso perioperatorio, con el fin de la elaboración de un manual de preparación de la sala quirúrgica para paciente sometido a neurocirugía. Resultados: Se desarrolló un manual en el cual se incluye la preparación de la sala quirúrgica para neurocirugía: cirugía de columna, cirugía de cráneo y cirugía transnasal y se incluyen 2 planes de cuidado estandarizados. Se realizó la propuesta de una hoja del material e instrumental necesario para las cirugías. Conclusión: La elaboración del presente manual propiciará una preparación planeada, fundamentada y enfocada a la intervención quirúrgica a realizar; con esto, se optimizarán los tiempos de acción y se mejorará la interacción entre el equipo quirúrgico. Introduction: In the surgical process there are three clearly differentiated phases: preoperative phase; intraoperative phase and postoperative phase, which are part of the full care of the patient. Within the transoperative period, surgical instrumentation is the ability to participate in surgical intervention, in the management of instruments, accessories and to apply sterile techniques. The operating room nurse is a vital component of the surgical team and as such must be trained theoretically and technically before having direct contact with the patient. Their role will implicate to aknowledge surgical techniques, anatomy, the position of the patient, instruments, necessary materials, asepsis and sterilization rules. They will have to anticipate the needs of surgery and face critical situations. Methodology: It has been made a research of information on the surgical room and the stages of the perioperative process, in order to elaborate a manual of preparation of the surgical room for patients undergoing neurosurgery. Results: A manual was developed which includes the preparation of the surgical room for neurosurgery, such as: spine surgery, cranial surgery and transnasal surgery. The manual includes 2 standardized care plans and a proposal of a sheet of the material and instruments necessary for the surgeries was made. Conclusion: The preparation of this manual will promote a planned, grounded and focused preparation for the surgical intervention to be performed; with this, the action times will be optimized and the interaction between the surgical team will be improved.
