NIC: apoyo al cuidador principal del adulto mayor con demencia de tipo vascular

Abstract

Introducción: El papel del cuidador del adulto mayor es de vital importancia y de gran complejidad del cuidado de las personas con demencia puesto que realizan tareas, actividades prácticas y emocionales de cuidado. Los cuidadores de adultos mayores que sufren demencia se afectan en el orden físico, psíquico y socioeconómico, lo que conlleva a un elevado estrés que repercute en la calidad del cuidado que recibe el adulto mayor y en la propia evolución de la enfermedad o discapacidad. Objetivo: Se elaboró un manual de intervenciones de enfermería con base en la NIC: apoyo al cuidador principal, para el cuidado al cuidador de adultos mayores con demencia de tipo vascular. Metodología: Tipo de investigación documental, se partió el abordaje de la búsqueda de artículos científicos utilizando el centro de recursos académicos virtuales creativa con que cuenta la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí y a partir de ahí se realizó la búsqueda de diferentes bases de datos como cuiden, dialnet, lilacs, scielo, scienciedirect, con el uso de operadores boléanos and, and not, or, de tal forma se realizó cruces de descriptores de palabras claves para la búsqueda de artículos en español, inglés y portugués. Resultados: Desarrollo de un manual para el cuidado al cuidador con base a la NIC apoyo al cuidador principal del adulto mayor con demencia de tipo vascular proponiendo actividades y estrategias de cuidado con sustento científico y cuidando la pertinencia de su aplicabilidad. Conclusiones: La importancia de realizar manuales para el cuidado al cuidador principal de adultos mayores con demencia de tipo vascular es brindar las herramientas necesarias para el bienestar hacia este tipo de población, el compromiso profesional como enfermero especialista en Geronto geriatría es atender e implementar acciones basadas en el cuidador principal de adultos mayores, es indispensable generar este tipo de abordaje para poder brindar las actividades de cuidado para su mayor facilidad y abordaje de los pacientes.

Introduction: The role of the elderly adult caregiver is of vital importance and of great complexity in the care of people with dementia since they carry out tasks, practical and emotional care activities. Caregivers of older adults who suffer from dementia are affected physically, mentally, and socioeconomically, which leads to high stress that affects the quality of care that the elderly person receives and the evolution of the disease or disability itself.
