Historia ambiental de las inundaciones en San Luis Potosí: 1930-1940

Abstract

El objetivo general de esta investigación es analizar las inundaciones suscitadas en el periodo de 1930-1940 desde la perspectiva de la historia ambiental. Se pone énfasis en la relación sociedad-agua en la capital potosina a partir del sistema geológico, los sistemas pluviales de los sistemas artificiales hídricos para estudiar las consecuencias en la población. Los objetivos particulares son, la caracterización físico geográfica del área urbana de San Luis Potosí en la década de 1930, Describir las inundaciones en la Ciudad de San Luis Potosí en la década citada. Analizar los dos objetivos anteriores a partir de la historia ambiental poniendo énfasis en los usos sociales del agua, para lo cual se reconoce el desarrollo que éstas ha tenido a grandes rasgos.

The general objective of this research is to analyze the floods caused in the 1930- 1940 period from the perspective of environmental history. Emphasis is placed on the society-water relationship in the capital of Potosi from the geological system, the rain systems of artificial water systems to study the consequences on the population. The particular objectives are, the geographical physical characterization of the urban area of San Luis Potosí in the 1930s, Describe the floods in the City of San Luis Potosí in the mentioned decade. Analyze the two previous objectives based on environmental history, emphasizing the social uses of water, for which the development that these have had in broad strokes is recognized.
